Creating a New Page
There are several ways to create new pages. You can choose to create an entirely new page and then add everything yourself. Alternatively, it’s possible to save a page from your website in the Divi library and load this page onto your new page so that you only need to modify texts and images.
Creating a New Page without the Divi Library
To create a completely new page, you can go to the WordPress menu on the left and click on ‘Pages, add new page’1. You’ll then see an empty page where you can provide a title2.
You can now activate the Divi builder by clicking the purple button labeled ‘Use the Divi Builder’2. Divi will now be activated, and you’ll be presented with 3 options. Choose the blue section labeled ‘Start Building’3. You can now add all sections, rows, and modules to this page as desired.
If you’re satisfied with everything you’ve added or modified, you can publish the page by clicking the blue ‘Publish’ button on the right side of your screen
Saving an Existing Page to the Divi Library
It’s possible to save existing pages so you can load them onto new pages. This way, you don’t have to build every new page from scratch and can easily publish new pages by adjusting the text and images.
You can do this easily by going to ‘Pages’ in your WordPress menu1. In this list, find the page you want to use and click on ‘Edit’2. You’ll be directed to the Divi builder, where you can save the layout to the Divi library using the save button. These buttons are located at the top of the Divi builder, as indicated in the photo below3.
Click the ‘Save Template’ button and give your new template a name. Remember this name so you know which template you’ll need to load later when creating a new page. Once you’ve named this page, click the blue ‘Save to Library’ button. After that, you can exit this page3.
Creating a New Page from a Template
You can use a saved template to create a new page. To do this, go to ‘Pages, add new page’ in your WordPress menu1.
Once you’re on the new page, you need to enter a title for your page, and you can activate the Divi builder by clicking on the purple button labeled ‘Use the Divi Builder’2. You’ll now see 3 options. From this list, choose ‘Select Layout’3. A new window will appear where you can click on ‘Load Layout’ at the top. You’ll then see all the saved templates from which you can choose. Select the template you saved, and everything will be loaded4.
You can then adjust the modules to suit your preferences. Once everything is adjusted, you can publish the page by clicking ‘Publish’ at the top right of the page5.
Setting the Permalink for a New Page
A permalink is the link that appears in your browser’s address bar. When you create a new page, you can adjust the permalink yourself. For instance, you might be on a page whose permalink is https://manual.grizzlymarketing.website/create-a-new-page/. You can modify the bold part of this URL yourself.
Once you’ve created a new page as described above, you’ll see that an automatically generated link appears1. You can use this, but if you decide to use a different URL, you can adjust it by clicking on the edit button next to the permalink1. You can then come up with your own URL in this box, such as “this-is-my-new-page”. When you click on the OK button, WordPress will automatically convert this to a valid permalink2. You can then continue formatting the page and publish it using the blue button on the right3.
